Sneak Peek At My Miss Seattle Dresses

The dresses I'll be wearing to emcee Miss Seattle!

Here’s a sneak peek of the two dresses I get to wear tonight as co-emcee of Miss Seattle. The gown sponsor of the evening is La Belle Reve Bridal in Bellevue, so they let the emcee borrow dresses for the evening (so fun to play dress up). Now the big decision of which one to wear to start the show and which one to wear to end the show? Miss Seattle is at Renton Arts Performing Center tonight at 7pm, tickets can be purchased at the door for $20. I can’t wait to update you on who the new Miss Seattle is!   Tweet

Jumping On AngelList

angellist

I just started an AngelList profile! I’m joining another social network and it’s called AngelList. I just created my profile and am excited to explore this site more and see how it works. You can check out my profile here.  If you’re on AngelList let me know. I’d love to hear from you and get any tips you have on how best to use this platform. So far it looks like a great way to connect the entrepreneur community and those passionate about supporting this community. As Co-Founder of Mission Hot Mama that community, especially in Seattle, has welcomed me with open arms (and a bunch of you in San Francisco and New York too). Cheers to dreaming big and a big cheers to the people that help make those dreams happen. Tweet

MissSeattle

It’s time to crown a new Miss Seattle! I’m excited to be one of the hosts for the Miss Seattle Scholarship Pageant on Saturday March 3rd. I’ll be co-hosting the event with Don O’Neill from the Ron and Don show. Judges making the tough decision will include local TV anchor Denise Whitaker, a former Miss Washington along with CEO of Piknic Jonathan Sposato (who I can’t wait to see what he wears, he’s always so fashionable). It’s going to be a great night so come join us if you can. You can purchase tickets here. The pageant will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2012, at 7:00 p.m. in the Renton IKEA Performing Arts Center at Renton High School, Renton, Washington. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. Tweet

Measurement Time (insert drum roll here)

I had to clip my dress in at the waist today!

Half way through this cleanse and it’s measurement time… I’ve finished the first 10 days of this 24 day challenge which is the herbal cleanse element and I’m really noticing a difference in my body. Today on TV I had to clip the back of my dress because it was too loose on me (picture above). I must admit I have been great at sticking to the cleanse rules, but I haven’t been too great about working out so I was surprised that my usually very body hugging dress was showing such a huge difference when I put it on. My trainer Angie measured me today and here are the results after 10 days of this cleanse: Down 2.5lbs, 8 inches overall and 1% body fat lower. I’m really impressed with the difference I’m noticing! Part two of this cleanse

My Personal Trainer Talks Cleanse

Personal Trainer Angie Lewis

I’ve been getting a lot of questions about my cleanse so I asked my trainer Angie to write a guest blog. Here is her blog below.  Angie is an Advocare rep and it’s the cleanse she advised me on, there are several other cleanses out there too so make sure you research the best one for you before you start. A quick disclaimer… I am not endorsing any particulate cleanse, this just happens to be the one my trainer is passionate about so I’m excited to support her.   - Jenni Question: What is this cleanse Jenni is doing? Angie says – When Jenni came to me looking for a system to get her back on track with healthy energy and fat loss, I knew this was the perfect solution! While the word, “cleanse” may provoke images in your head of running to the bathroom

Hogan’s Healthy Eating

20120212-112149.jpg

Josh the hubby loves to cook healthy and play with new meals, so me being on this cleanse right now is making him really happy as he gets to show off his skills in the kitchen while seeing his wife smile from ear to ear when a meal is waiting for her.  I’ll keep trying to snap pics of what he makes and put the details below on this post incase you need some ideas of what to whip up for a meal.  You’ll notice he’ll be trying to stick to protein, carbohydrates, vegetables and fruits. The list that he will be staying away from is fried food, refined or white flour/rice, alcohol, sugar and dairy. Above picture is the Salmon dinner he made last night. It was the first dinner for day one of the cleanse. It’s Salmon we

24 Day Cleanse – Day 1

The BIG bottles of water I have ready to drink

My trainer talked me in to trying a 24 day cleanse so buckle up, that means no coffee for me for 24 days!!!! It’s day one and the one thing I’m most interested in seeing if I can do today is drink the gallon of water they advise you drink. That looks like a LOT of water (picture above). I’ve never done a cleanse before so I’m really interested to see how it goes. I’ll keep you all updated on my Twitter and Facebook pages. I’d love to hear if any of you have already done this too and if you have any tips, advice or even feedback on doing one of these cleanses. The thing I’m most excited about is the meal plan. I went shopping yesterday for the first week and Josh (the hubby and our household chef)
